My non maternity shirt may never recover.
Last time I was pregnant.
I'm definitely lower and my stomach seems to be jutting straight out this time!
How far along: 39 weeks
Size of Baby: 20 in & 7.25 lb
Fruit/vegetable comparison: Small Watermelon
Total weight gain: 13 lbs (I've been able to eat more now that she's dropped a bit!)
Sleep: Isn't horrible. I just have to get up to use the loo still at least 2 to 3 times a night. The heartburn has almost gone away now that she's so low.
Movement: Still lots and lots of movement. She is so strong! It can be pretty painful, and she's even made me feel sick because she's jiggling around so much. Sheesh!
Unglamorous body changes: My stomach is starting to feel pretty stretched and my belly button is starting to look like an outie! This didn't happen last time so it's quite strange to me. I'm also feeling pressure down low which can make it difficult to get comfortable at times. But the good news is no stretch marks like last time! I need to thank my mom for those genes. ;)
What I miss: I miss being able to play and pick up Maggie like I normally would. I have to be careful now so that I don't strain my back. She also pretty much can't sit on my lap anymore. :( She tries all the time but slides right off. So sad!
Labor Signs: I had what I'm calling a "false labor" on Monday night. I started getting some pretty strong and painful contractions around 7:00 pm that lasted until about midnight. I took a shower and laid down & that's when it started to ease up. Most of the pain was in my back, and I was so scared that I was going to have another back labor! I'm praying I can avoid that this time around. I also saw my midwife today and had a sweep done. She said I was about 1-2 cm dilated and my cervix has started to soften. I was hoping to hear I was further along. The baby is nice and low though. So that's good news. I still really think I'm going to go past my due date again. She said she was going to do another sweep next week if this little girl hasn't decided to show up by then. Fingers crossed!
Best moment this week: Finished packing our bags and the nesting has kicked in. I'm trying to make sure everything is in order for when this little girl decides to arrive!
Looking forward to: Excited for when my mom gets here on Sunday. It will be a relief to know she's here to watch Maggie when I go into labor, and to help out on those groggy early newborn days. :) Obviously, I'm pretty anxious to meet this little girl and it should be interesting to see if she waits until her due date or after to come.
