The first weekend of May is a three day holiday in England. So we decided to take a last minute trip to Wales to take advantage! Some friends of ours were going and found this really neat place to stay in Tenby, Wales (Celtic Haven Resort & Spa). It had a restaurant, spa, pool, golf course, playground, etc. It was made up of little cottages that over looked the ocean. It was the perfect spot!
Maggie enjoyed having a little more space to explore.
She even got to bounce on her first trampoline!
Swinging and going down the slide are her favorites (even though it doesn't look like it here, ha!).
I was anxious to try out the pool with her since she's never been in one before. Plus, she just looks too adorable in a swimsuit!
At first she didn't know what to make of an extra large bath tub but quickly warmed up to it. She LOVED "swimming" around and being tossed up in the air. This child has no fear.
Probably her favorite part was trying to drink the pool water. Eeek!! The whole time we had to keep her from putting her face down to drink but then she learned to suck it off her fingers. Geez...
I think our favorite thing about going somewhere new, is taking long walks and exploring the new sights. This was the first time Maggie has seen and touched the ocean. Lots of "firsts" on this trip.
She was having fun despite the look on her face.
We even had time to take turns getting a massage. What a treat!
One of the days we went into town to check everything out.
Tenby is a walled seaside town.
And has colorful buildings.
St. Catherine's Island and Fort are behind Ryan. Even further behind Ryan is Caldey Island that is inhabited by monks. During the spring and summer months you can fairy out but it was too windy while we were there.
Dipping her toes in the ocean for the first time.
The water was pretty chilly but Maggie didn't seem to mind at all.
It was such a nice day that she stripped down to play in some free standing water. We also had to keep the sand and ocean water out of her mouth. Ugg.
She is just growing up on us so fast!! How did this happen over night?
On our way back to England we stopped off in Cardiff the capital of Wales to have lunch on the bay.
Over all it was a nice relaxing little get away. I'm glad we took the time to visit Wales. Hopefully we can go back and explore the north part next time!
