Last weekend was such a fun one for our little family. It was filled with a bunch of "firsts" for Maggie. Ryan & I are getting so much joy watching our daughter experience things for the first time, and we can't wait for so many more!
After much research, deliberation and recommendations from our doctor we went ahead and started Mags on solids. Some of our reasons for doing so were she is big for her age, is able to sit up, showing signs she was interested and it seemed like she was needing a little extra in her diet to fill her up. We decided to start with Gerber's Oatmeal cereal to make sure she was able to swallow properly and not just push it out with her tongue.
The verdict was...
She LOVED it! She kept opening her mouth for more and putting her hands up to her mouth to help push it in. It was so adorable and got us exited to introduce her to more foods! We are going to start with avocado, sweet potatoes and bananas (every three days).
We captured her first bites on camera. Please ignore my annoying voice and my inability to talk correctly!! I always panic when I know I'm on camera. Ha!
Another first this past weekend was putting Maggie in her little pool! I don't know why it took us so long to finally try it out. She had almost out grown her swimsuits!
She couldn't quite figure out what she was doing in water outside and in clothes. Ryan filled it up with warm water he brought from inside the house. We knew she would freak if the water was too cold. She lasted for a little while before she had had enough.
Daddy letting her air dry in the swing.
The next day Maggie enjoyed another summer day watching her dad do some yard work.
She really worked up a sweat so we decided to try out the pool again.
She lasted a little longer this time but I think we were a little too close to nap time. :)
So I brought out the bubbles to distract her.
I love these pictures of her face.
Had to get one last shot of the back of her swimsuit she will only wear once! We might try and take her to a "real" pool this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes!
