Baby's 0-3 Month Favorites

Baby's 0-3 Month Favs

1. Fisher Price Comfy Time Bouncer - Maggie LOVES this.  I didn't purchase it until she was around 2 months old but I wish I would have had it sooner.  She is always batting at the animals hanging above her, and is so content with me bouncing her in it.  Sometimes it's the only thing that will calm her down.  I should have realized that I needed one of these earlier as she also loves to be bounced on our exercise ball.  It also vibrates!

2. Sassy Ring O' Links - This girl loves to grab at things now and these are so easy for her to take a hold of.  Even before she could grasp things, she was constantly batting at them.  I think she is also drawn to their bright colors.  I have been hanging them on her play gym but might purchase another set for other things around the house.

3. Lamaze Play And Grow Jacques the Peacock - This was probably one of Maggie's first toys that I could tell she actually took notice of.  I love that the back of this is black and white which really attracts little baby's attention.  It also has a lot of different textures and sounds that keep her interested.  She loves the crackling noises.

4. Sassy Jitter Bugs Toy - This is a fun toy!  If you pull down on it, the toy stretches out and then vibrates while it recoils.  The wings crackle and it also rattles.  Maggie loves to feel the fabric and look at the black & white bottom of the bug's feet.

5. Fisher-Price My Little Snugabunny Ultra Comfort Musical Gym - I didn't think this was the cutest play gym I've ever seen but Maggie loves it.  It's a little different from other play mats as it plays music, lights up and the toys spin around at the top.  She could stare at them for hours (ok, hours in baby time is like 15 minutes. Ha!).

6. Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse - This has to hands down be Maggie's favorite toy.  She's loved it since she was a newborn.  She just stares at the glowing belly and seems to really be soothed by the music.  I turn this on for every nap and it always helps her to unwind and fall asleep.  This is a MUST have!  I heard from so many moms how much their baby's love this.  I didn't really believe how great it was until I experienced it with Maggie.  We've already worn down the first set of batteries.  We also have the gloworm version but it's a little louder and doesn't include the sea sounds. (Also comes in blue)

I'll be back next week with my 0-3 month favorites!

Tiny Prints

As you all probably know by now, I LOVE ordering personalized cards for Christmas, thank you's, showers and birth announcements.  I'm pretty old fashioned because I much prefer receiving cards in the mail rather than an email.  I save a lot cards that are personal to me in keepsake boxes or put them in an album.

I posted this photo awhile back on my instagram of some personalized thank you cards I ordered from one of my favorite sites, Tiny Prints.  I can't tell you how many compliments I received on them.  I even saved one in Maggie's keepsake box.

I quickly blew through these adorable thank you cards in no time and wanted to order more.  So when Tiny Prints asked me if I wanted to create additional cards and write about their product, I jumped at the chance!  I absolutely love their designs, and am always checking out their site for ideas.  We are still receiving gifts for Maggie, although they have slowed.  So I wanted to create another thank you card that could apply to anything, not just baby gifts.  I feel like I'm always needing them!

I scoured Tiny Prints website for something simple and sweet.  Then I came across this gem!
Instead of putting just Maggie's name in the grey, I decided to include all of us.

I really liked how it was a simple, flat card that I could embellish on my own if I wanted to.  I also tried to glam it up a bit with a gold glitter pen.  I am the furthest thing from an artist but you get the idea.  Ha!  Maybe you guys could do a lot better then me.  :)

Thank you Tiny Prints!  We will definitely be getting good use out of these cute thank you's!

3 Months Old

 photo 4f600bd9-79eb-42b4-b2c6-12a276fd0cb7_zpscd229d45.jpg
(3 months old this past Sunday)

I really can't believe my "newborn" baby is already a fourth of the way through her first year of life!  Time is going way too fast.  Please slow down!

This past month was a little rough on us.  After Maggie had her first round of shots, it seemed like she was a different baby over night.  All of a sudden she went back to sleeping only 3 hours at a time at night, way more fussy and needing to be entertained at all times!  I felt like I couldn't leave the house anymore without her having a melt down.  Yikes!  Luckily, this past week it seems like we've turned a corner, and I'm getting my easy baby back.  I'm still trying to figure out how to get her to sleep 12 hours at a time at night.  We also are not on any kind of routine except trying to put her to bed around 8 pm.  I try to stick with the eat, play, sleep method at 3 hour intervals but it just seems like it makes her really fussy when I try to force her on a schedule.  So now I'm just feeding her on demand and putting her down for a nap when she shows signs of being tired.  She can stay awake about an hour and a half before she gets fussy.  Have any of you guys experienced this?  What is/was your schedule for a baby around this age?  I love a good schedule so this is kind of throwing me off.  Any thoughts or suggestions on eating, schedules and sleeping would be great!

Now for her monthly pictures!

I swear she's happy here!  She's not really to a point where she can smile on demand yet.  Maybe next month?

Daddy was trying to help me get her to look at me for the photos, and this was the best we got.  Ha!  In other news, Mags is starting to roll over from her back to her front.  I was changing her in a restroom the other day and when I turned to throw away the diaper she had rolled to her side.  It scared the crap out of me because she was so close to the edge!  She also did a complete roll in bed with dad the other day, and of course I missed it.  No more leaving this girl unattended!

Apparently I've gotten behind the time with blogging news.  I just found out about BlogLovin', a site that helps you organize and read the blogs you like to stay up on.  In order for me to "claim" my blog I have to post the link below.  Follow me if you'd like!  :)

I'll be back later today with Maggie's three month stats!  (How is this possible??)

First Father's Day

 photo c999042b-2d06-46d9-930f-7e19237500e1_zpsdbf12bbd.jpg

I'm getting this post up a little late.  Better late than never!

Happy First Father's Day to my love and father to our beautiful daughter!  It's been so amazing to watch you become the most loving, proud and caring father a little girl could ever ask for.  Maggie is so blessed to have you as her daddy.  I can see in your eyes how much you want to protect her and the excitement of all the things you want to teach her.  We have so many wonderful days ahead of us.

I am so lucky to have you as a partner in life and the father of my child(ren).  Thank you for being an incredible provider and protector of our family.  You are amazing to be so onboard with me staying home with our little girl.  You have always wanted what was best for our family.

I can already see how much Maggie loves you and looks forward to seeing you everyday when you come home.  She gets so excited and can't contain her smiles for you.  (I'm pretty sure she gets sick of looking at me all day.  Ha!)

I can't wait to watch your relationship grow and transform through the coming years.  I can already tell Maggie is going to be a major daddy's girl.  Her future husband is going to have a hard time living up to you!  But I know the love that you display for me and her will help her find the man that will love her just as much.

Maggie & I will try to show you everyday how special you are.  You deserve all our love and appreciation.  Thank you for everything you do for us.  We love you so much!!

Weekend Visitors

May was a busy month for us as we had three weekends in a row of visitors!  (I know I'm so late on posting about this.)  I already talked about our friends Brad & Lindsey visiting here.  The weekend after that my cousin, Matt, his wife, Kathy, and their daughter, Kaylee came to visit us.  We packed our weekend full of fun.  It was neat to hangout with their daughter and imagine what Maggie might be like at her age.  :)

First things first, we took them to our small town's farmers market to get their famous cherry limeade.  My husband is always making excuses to go downtown on Saturdays so he can get one.  Ha!  Right near there is an old train station and train for kids to play on.  We had never really checked it out before but having Kaylee with us gave us a reason to.
Kaylee ringing the bell.

Is she not the cutest thing you've ever seen??

I love these guys so much!!

Soon after that we left for the Tulsa Zoo.  We had never been and thought it would be a fun place for a 7 year old.  Kaylee is into collecting stuffed animals from each zoo she visits, so we knew she would enjoy it.  Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the first really hot days of the summer.  We did get about an hour in before it turned into blazing heat.
Kathy & Kaylee cooling off in the wind generator.

Maggie's first trip to the zoo!

Here's Kaylee & Matt being a little jealous of the penguins.  I'm pretty sure we were all wanting to jump into the water at this point.

Ha!  It looks like Maggie's trying to sunbathe here.

No idea what she's looking at, and no idea what we are posing in front of.

We came back to our house to crash for the rest of the afternoon and soak in some air-conditioning.

Matt & Kathy also got to get some quality time in with Maggie.

We had so much with with you guys!  Please come back again soon.  Love you so much!

The following weekend our good friends Mark, Emily and their son, Caden, came to visit us.
Of course I forgot to get a picture of Mark!!

We kept this weekend pretty low key since we both had little babies and had to take separate cars everywhere we went because of carseats.  Of course we hit up the farmers market for cherry limeades, then after that we showed them around our office building (which I'm sure was so boring!).   We worked up an appetite so we headed to one of our favorite restaurants, Frank & Lola's, for lunch.
After that we pretty much just hung out at our place and let the babies "play" together.  Maggie didn't really notice Caden was there, but he definitely had fun checking her out all weekend.  So cute!!  Caden is almost exactly 4 months older then her.

Enjoying tummy time together.  Future boyfriend/girlfriend??  :)

We have been having so much with with all our visitors lately.  Who wants to come next?  Any takers??  I still have to post about Maggie and I's adventure to Kansas City for a week while Ryan was out of town (coming soon!).

New Beginnings

Today is the first official day of my new job.  It will have longer hours, less pay and be the hardest job I've ever done.  But it will also be the most rewarding and important job I will ever do in my life.

Meet my new boss...
She definitely cracks the whip! ;)

After lots of prayers and many discussions with the hubs, we both made the decision for me to stay home with Maggie.  It was certainly not easy to make this choice but one that I think will be best for our family.  I've always wanted to be a stay at home mom but wasn't sure if that was something we could do.  I also loved the company I worked for and the people I worked with.  Six years is a long time to work somewhere, and that sort of becomes your identity.  I struggled a lot more then I thought I would making the decision to leave, especially because my husband also works there.  We would drive to work and have lunch together almost everyday.  I loved sharing that part of our lives and connecting on that level.  It will be something I will always cherish.  Plus, there is always the option to go back when I feel ready.

I asked myself what would I regret more... staying home with my daughter or not working?  I also realized that I could always go back to work but I can not always get back this time with her.  She is changing so much each and everyday, and I don't want to miss one minute of it!  All those thoughts were what ultimately decided it for us.  Yes, things will be a little bit tighter around our household but it's a sacrifice we were willing to take.  I know not every family has this option, and I will not be taking this blessing for granted!

Maggie with my now former boss, saying goodbye.  I definitely teared up a ton cleaning out my desk and saying bye to all my coworkers.  But they are always there and I can still see them whenever!

To new beginnings!

Our sweet daughter was baptized this past weekend in Kansas City surrounded by family and friends.  We couldn't be more proud of being Maggie's parents if we tried.  She has been such a blessing to us, and we couldn't wait for the day that we could dedicate her to our Lord and Savior.

(Be prepared for a picture bombardment!)
We were beaming all day.  Ryan took Maggie on a walk the day before to explain to her what it meant to be baptized and to let her know how much God loves her.  It was such a sweet moment.

She wore the same dress I did when I was baptized as a baby.  My Godmother, Pat, was the one that bought it for me, and she was able to see it worn twice!

The baptism was held at Leawood Presbyterian and pastor, Ryan Kapple, performed the beautiful ceremony.  He was my youth pastor back in the day at Colonial Presbyterian!  I had to hold back tears the whole time!

She did so good!  I was a little nervous as she has been extra fussy as of late.

We promise, baby girl, to raise you to know and love your loving Father.

Afterwards, we had a small get together at my mom's house to celebrate this big day.  The cake was made by the same lady that made our wedding cake.  Yum!

Such a special day!

Rocky & Pat (my Godmother) jumped into this picture with us.  They came up all the way from Dallas to meet Maggie.  We are so thankful they were able to come.

We are grateful for you two, and Maggie's lucky to have you in her family!

Guys shot including our friend Brad.  Our friend, Emily, made it too but I didn't get a picture with her.

Kisses, spit up and all!
