Maggie's going home outfit.

All our going home outfits.

I plan to post all the details of her birthday soon.  We are still getting settled in and adjusting to this new life.  We maybe deliriously tired but are so in love.  Until I can get her birth story posted you will just have to enjoy this sweet video made by Grandma Susan that makes me cry every time I watch it of Maggie's first days.  The song in this video is sung by Maggie's Aunt Emily.  Maggie is such a lucky girl to have so many family members that love her.

Last Minute Bathroom Redo

You may have seen a couple weeks ago a picture I posted on Instagram of my guest bathroom looking like this...
My husband up and decided to tackle a bathroom renovation just a week before my due date!  I claimed he was nesting more then I was.  Unfortunately, I didn't get any before pictures because Ryan started on this little project without me knowing about it. Ha!  But this "during" shot gives you an idea of what we started with.  We were both tired of the oak colored cabinets and the extra large mirror.
So Ryan bought a power sander and went to town.

After sanding, he slapped a few coats of the darkest stain he could find from Lowes and then finished it off with some polyurethane.  He also replaced the hardware with the same ones we have in the kitchen but silver instead of oil rubbed bronze.

Instead of replacing the mirror, we decided to try and frame it in to make it seem more finished looking.  So Ryan headed back to Lowes to grab some wood, then cut and stained it.  I helped him glue it to the mirror, and he put some screws on top to fully secure it to the wall.

The finished product and I LOVE it!!  It makes such a difference.

More of a straight on view from the door and a Yogi photo bomb.

Now that this project's finally finished all we need is for Maggie to finally get here to enjoy her new bathroom!  Sometime down the road we plan to do this exact some thing to our master bathroom but I think we might be pushing our luck starting that now since I'm 5 days overdue...

Bump Watch :: 40 Weeks

And still pregnant!!
 photo IMG_6984_zps5d4fdbfa.jpg
Yes, I realize my maternity shirts are no longer fitting...

How far along: 40 weeks

Size of Baby: 20 in & 7.5 lb

Fruit/vegetable comparison: Small Pumpkin

Total weight gain: 27 lbs (lost a pound)

Sleep:  This is starting to get rough again as I now lose count how many times I get up to go to the restroom...  Plus it's getting harder and harder to roll myself out of bed. Ha!

Movement:  Still lots of movement.  There are times where she seems pretty quiet (probably due to lack of space) but other times I think she's having a dance party in there.  She did make me feel sick to my stomach the other day because she was moving so much.

Unglamorous body changes: The stomach is definitely feeling stretched, and I've definitely got the waddle going on.  I'm not able to get places as quickly as I used to. :)  For some reason I like sitting on the floor better then the couch now but I have a really hard time getting myself off the floor!!

What I miss: Being able to sit and lay down in a normal position.

Milestones: She's continuing to grow hair and nails.  And she's keeping up that lung development, too.  (the

Labor Signs:  Still having a ton of Braxton Hicks.  There was one day that I was having them every 8-10 minutes for over 12 hours but then they just went away.  Such a teaser!  I was also up until 4 am Monday morning with contractions and cramps but again nothing came of it.  At this point I don't think I will believe she's actually coming until I'm doubled over in pain or she's halfway out. Ha!  I had a doctor's appointment yesterday, and she said I was about 2 cm dilated and 60% effaced.  Her prediction was that I would probably have this baby by Friday.  Here's hoping!  Right now I feel like she's going to be in there forever!!

Best moment this week: I'm not doing a whole lot these days but this week I started working half days in the afternoon.  This has really lifted my spirits as it was getting pretty tough sitting for over 8 hours a day.  I plan just to work half days this week and if I'm still pregnant next week I will be done working all together.  Definitely ready for people to quit saying "So you're still here!" at work.  lol  I've also been asked a lot how long I plan to take off for maternity leave.  I'm definitely planning to take the full 12 weeks allowed by FMLA.

I also had 3 ladies stop by my house on Saturday to drop off sweet gifts and one even invited me over for dinner.  Ryan wasn't there because I told him to go to the Big 12 Championship because this was probably the last time he could do something spontaneous like that again.  Plus, I knew I was no where near going into labor, and if I did some how go into labor he would only be 3 hours away.  (I was secreting hoping that it would send me into labor. Ha!)

Looking forward to: Meeting my daughter!!

Side Notes:  I've been meaning to do a side post about baby thoughts and predictions.  I may still get one out one of these days but I thought I'd share a few thoughts here.

First of all, I just have to brag on my hubby a little bit.  He has been absolutely wonderful and extremely patient to me throughout this whole process.  He's so willing to jump up for anything I need, cooks me dinner every night and encourages me to take walks with him.  He has made every single one of my doctor's appointments and have been involved with every decision.  He is already so protective of his little girl and his excitement grows everyday to meet and hold her.  I love listening to him day dream about all the things he wants to do with her and provide for her.  He will absolutely be the best dad I could have ever wanted for my children, and that is probably the thing I look forward to most is watching him become one (besides meeting her!).  I freaking LOVE my man!

Predictions:  I really slacked on getting predictions from the family and now it's a little late to do that.  But here are the ones I have/had.

Ryan - Birthdate: 3/18 (already lost)
            Weight: 8 lbs
            Length: 20 inches

Me - Birthdate: 3/22
         Weight: 8.5 lbs
         Length: 21 inches

My Mom - Birthday: 3/20
                  Weight: 8.1 lbs
                  Length: 21 inches

Feel free to leave your predictions in the comments.  I'd love to hear what you guys think!!!  I should mention that I was 8.1 lbs (can't remember my length) and Ryan was over 10 lbs & 22 inches (eek!).  We were both a week over due.

P.S. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram as that's where I will be posting updates when I finally do go into labor!  User Name: ebrigl

Finished Nursery!

Finally!!  I can reveal our finished nursery for Maggie.  It's been a long time coming.  :)  It took forever just to get started because we couldn't decide on a design or colors.  Click here to see what we started with and some of the earlier progress.  Ryan & I finally decided on light grey walls with pops of various shades of pink through out.  I had to reign Ryan back from going pink overload!  (You think I'm kidding.)  :)

Let's get started with the long awaited tour and resource list.
The view as you enter the room.

Another angle.  The major things done here were painting the walls, creating the picture box molding under the chair rail and replacing the overhead fan with a more modern one.  The light fixture is actually from Lowe's, and we got it on sale for $25!

Maggie Letters - Gift from Cousin
I was trying to hang these letters in the nursery some where but they wouldn't stick to my textured walls!  So I thought they spiced up the closet on the side of the wooden shelf.  I'm pretty sure the closet door will always be open so I can see them all the time!

I absolutely love this closet.  Sometimes I just stand in here for what seems like forever.

Can't wait to start dressing Maggie up!

It was hard to capture a picture of the shelf but you get the idea.  I love how it looks so organized now but know that it will be a disaster once Maggie arrives especially when she's old enough to rip things off the shelf. Ha!

Well, I think that pretty much concludes the nursery tour.  Hope you guys enjoyed it!  I can't wait to spend all my time in here with my little girl.  Sometimes when I'm feeling anxious I will just go stand in the room and think about her being here & in my arms.

Bump Watch :: 39 Weeks

 photo 022c1ecf-0f24-484c-a07c-3b9e8a2ff291_zpsb09b320d.jpg

How far along: 39 weeks

Size of Baby: 20 in & 7.25 lb

Fruit/vegetable comparison: Small Watermelon

Total weight gain: 28 lbs (almost 29 lbs)

Sleep:  Not too bad other then getting up to use the restroom several times a night and having to continue to turn over to relieve my sore hips.  I'm honestly not complaining now that the heartburn & indigestion are almost none existent!

Movement:  Love feeling her move.  As she is running out of room her little kicks and punching can be a bit more painful, but I know I'm going to miss this feeling once she is out.

Unglamorous body changes: My stomach is starting to feel pretty stretched.  There are times when I feel like it can't stretch any farther and my belly can be quite sensitive.  Still no stretch marks though!  Fingers crossed it stays that way.  Ha!

What I miss: I remember the days when I could get pretty comfortable pretty easily but these days it takes a little more time to get there.  Then I'm only comfortable for a short time before I have to switch positions.

Milestones: She's probably able to flex her limbs now.  Her brain is still rapidly developing -- she's getting smarter by the week!  Her nails may extend past his fingertips.  (the

Labor Signs:  I've been having a lot of Braxton Hicks lately.  There were even a couple of times this week that I thought I could be going into labor.  Friday night the contractions were so strong that is was contorting my belly and you could even see the shape of Maggie!!  It lasted for a few hours but then started to lessen.  I've definitely been having contractions everyday but they are inconsistent.  I saw the doctor today and she said I was still 1 cm dialated but maybe a little more then that.  I was also 50% effaced, and she still thinks I will go into labor after my due date.  :(

Best moment this week: The nursery is finally finished and I took pictures of it this weekend.  I plan to post them this Thursday!!  I also got to have lunch with my friends Brittney (who was in town from Houston) & her sister Chelsea on Friday.  I also met with a photographer on Wednesday to discuss newborn pictures.  She was a little pricey so I'm still looking.  Finally, Ryan and I had probably our last date night on Saturday night.  It was a pretty great week (other then Maggie didn't come).

Looking forward to: Maggie's due date being here and obviously being that much closer to the day she actually decides to make her appearance.  I'm also looking forward to 3 months off from work to spend with my little girl.

Since I think little Maggie is going to miss St. Patrick's Day I wanted to post what will most likely be her first holiday outfit.  How cute is this bunny onesie and leg warmers???  I also got a black bow to go along with this.
This outfit is from here.  (Picture is from the etsy shop.)

Bump Watch :: 38 Weeks

 photo f41211a5-30c3-4739-8036-e5e2f3874686_zps2d45efe3.jpg

How far along: 38 weeks

Size of Baby: 19.75 in & 6.8 lb

Fruit/vegetable comparison: Leek

Total weight gain: 28 lbs

Sleep:  This has been getting a little harder as I've gotten bigger.  I have to get up to go to the restroom a lot more now.  I also have to be careful when I turn over or else I'll tweak my back or pull something in my belly.  And unfortunatelly, my hips hurt if I'm on one side too long.
Movement:  She's still pretty active.  There are some days where she's a little more quiet, but most days I can feel what I think is an elbow or heal running up and down my belly.  Sometimes I wonder how she doesn't break my water with some of her bigger movements. Ha!
Unglamorous body changes: I've definitely started the pregnancy waddle!  I thought I might avoid this but I guess it was unavoidable.  :)  I'm also having a harder time putting shoes on and have to ask Ryan for help a lot of times now.  This week I decided to take a little more advantage of this pregnancy thing and started asking Ryan more often to get me things.  That man is a saint! Ha!!
What I miss: Still just missing my energy level.  I've also started to miss running an
d the feeling that you get when you want to try & get back into shape.  I'll definitely be looking forward to getting my body back.

Milestones: She may have about an inch or so of hair already.  She's slowly shedding that white goo on her skin (called vernix caseosa) but you might see some of it at birth.  (the

Labor Signs:  Definitely feeling more Braxton Hicks and soreness in my pelvic area.  I went on a three mile walk yesterday and thought I was going to die that last mile.  I think I might just stick with 2 miles from here on out because my pelvis was so sore today!  The doctor said I was 1 cm dialated but my cervix was still thick.  She thinks I will most likely go past my due date.  :(  I've started taking a higher dose of primrose oil, added two bags for my red leaf tea and have been eating a lot of pinnapple.  I'm sure none of that will actually do anything but it makes me feel like I'm doing something.
Best moment this week: So many things!  My friends Rob & Jess had their sweet baby boy, Ronan, this past Tuesday and he is perfect!  She was the last of my friends that was due before me so now it feels really weird that I'm supposed to be the next that goes.  Eeek!  You guys are going to think I'm crazy but Ryan & I made the decision to switch doctors/hospitals at 38 weeks.  We really wanted to give birth at Bailey Medical Center in Owasso, OK and have a certain Dr. there be our OB but unfortunatelly they didn't accept our insurance.  Well, we just found out that they are now taking our insurance, and we were not completely comfortable with the doctor we had.  So we made the leap of faith this week.  We met with her yesterday and she's amazing!  She was very supportive of the Bradley Method.  I really felt a peace about it and was so thankful she would take me on as a patient this late in the game.  Sometimes you just have to go with your gut.
Looking forward to: This little lady getting here!  For some reason hitting 38 weeks has now made me impatient for her arrival.  I'm just so ready to meet her.  I'm also meeting with a photographer tomorrow to discuss newborn pictures!!  I'm really excited for this.  I feel like I still have a lot of organizing to do around the house but the nursery is almost completed.  I'm hopefully that we'll get the last couple of things hung this week and then I can share pictures!

I posted a few weeks back on my IG account about my friend Emily's dad who had heart surgery that didn't go well.  I just wanted to update anyone that prayed for him that his heart did start pumping on it's own!!!  This was truly a miracle as the doctor said he was the sickest of the sick and didn't think he was going to make it.  Thank you for everyone that lifted this family up in your prayers.  God listened!!

I also wanted to update everybody on our first born fur baby, KC.  He had an 18 week follow up on his leg where they x-rayed it.  Good news is there is no signs of the bone infection the bad news is the bone has become partially displaced again.  He's not putting a lot of weight on it right now.  The doctor thinks that if we give it a few more months that scare tissue will form and help to stabilize the leg.  If not, he will need to under go another major surgery to fuse the leg so it can no longer bend.  I hope we can avoid this but at the same time I don't want him to be in pain.  I just can't believe that we are still having to deal with this and I feel so bad for little KC.  I think we are going to try and get a second opinion.

Last thing I wanted to tell you guys about was Maggie's first St. Patty's Day outfit!  I just realized a week or so ago that there is a possibility that she might be here in time for this holiday, and I at least needed one outfit just in case.  (However, now I don't think she'll be here in time.)

I'm glad I didn't get one that said St. Patrick's Day because if she's late then I can just say the clover means she's my lucky baby. Ha!  If anybody's interested I got this at the cutest Etsy shop here.
