Show Us Where You Live Friday Thursday - Kitchen

Since I didn't show my kitchen for the starter week on Kelly's Korner, I decided better late then never!
This is the view from the living room into the kitchen. Our house was already built when we bought it so we didn't get to pick out anything. While I do like our kitchen, I would have chosen few things different like the color of our cabinets and counter tops.
The view from the eat in kitchen. We plan on replacing the light right above our sink with some kind of colorful glass pendant. (I had just mopped the floors if you were wondering why they look shinny.)
The coffee bar, just kidding. If you know us, then you know we do not drink coffee. We just have it here for our guests. :)
The view sort of looking into the living room.
The view from the dining room. I also plan on getting some little floor rugs in front of the sink and stove. I just can't find any I like!
The pantry directly left of the refrigerator. I didn't even straighten it up for you guys! How rude of me.
This is our frig that I just recently bought some decor for the top of it. We toyed around with the idea of extending the cabinets over it but couldn't find the cabinet makers to do it for us.
I am still playing around with ideas for decor over our cabinets. Any ideas/suggestions? We also will probably put hardware on the cabinets eventually. Apparently, in new homes that is not an automatic thing the builders do.
My most cherished kitchen item, the KitchenAid mixer. I use it for everything!
Still figuring out decor items.
This is our eat in kitchen. Pretty plain. I plan on hanging some decorative plates on the walls and getting a tall vase for the corner and putting some twisty wood sticks in it. I also need a round rug to put under the table and I want to replace our IKEA chairs that worked for us when we first got married but not so much now. Oh, and also a center piece. Still a lot to do in this area. This table used to Ryan's parents. They gave it to us when we got married. It used to be kind of a yellowish wood that didn't really match our decor. So Ryan & his best friend, Miles, went to work on it. They sanded and painted until they came up with this beauty. It also has a leaf. The table cloth used to be Ryan's grandmas and I believe she made it. I could be wrong though.
These are our place settings we registered for when we got married. I registered for two different colors since I decided not to get any china. I am still really happy with that decision.

  1. I am still trying to get through all these kitchens! I love the archway above your bar.

I'd love to hear from you!
