Bump Watch :: 26 Weeks

26 Weeks
I had a really cute picture in front of my fireplace all ready to go, but I totally forgot to upload it!  So I was forced to take another picture in the bathroom at work with my tacky sweater (see below).

When I heard that my company was having a tacky Christmas sweater day I originally wasn't going to participate.  But then when I heard you could wear jeans I was all over it!  I don't actually own a Christmas sweater so I had to make one up.  Can you tell how much I like to wear my jeans??

How far along: 26 weeks

Size of Baby: 14 in & 1.75 lb

Fruit/vegetable comparison: Hothouse Cucumber (??)

Total weight gain: 14 pounds (At this rate I'm going to be HUGE!)  I totally have a confession.  I have really been slacking with my exercise and nutrition...  I know labor is the hardest workout of your life so I need to get myself in shape for it!  I'm hitting my exercise video tonight (pregnancy video of course)!

Sleep: Still popping tums before bed.  I'm still having trouble sleeping through the night.  I think that's part of the reason I can tell my energy level is starting to go down again.

Movement: Definitely!  Lately instead of just some random kick every now and then, it will be for longer periods of time.  The other day she kicked for almost 15 minutes straight!  Still doesn't hurt yet, but I was laying on my side one time when she kicked me and I about jumped into the air.  Ryan even felt one of her big kicks and thought she was trying to come out. Ha!  You can definitely see my belly jump sometimes when she kicks now.

Unglamorous body changes: Still heartburn, but really it's not all that bad.  I have notice that I burp a lot more now!  That usually only happened when I drank soda but now it's any time of the day.  I don't think Ryan's enjoying that change so much. ;)

Showing:  I look like I'm carrying so high!  But then I'll feel her kick really low in my belly.  So weird.

Food cravings: Still majorly on the sweets kick (nothing new or different).  I have been wanting a lot of egg drop soup lately, and I really like the famous bowl at KFC.

What I miss: I miss not being able to easily shave my legs or bend over to put shoes on. Ha!  Every week it's getting a little harder to do those things.

Milestones: Her eyes are almost fully formed, and her eyes are starting to open.  And her eyelashes are now grown, too.  She's getting her immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up my antibodies.  She's taking breaths, too. They're of amniotic fluid, not air, but it's still good practice (

Best moment this week: We Ryan finished painting the nursery.  We have plans to add picture frame molding under the chair rail.  So once that's done I'll definitely share some pictures.  We still have a long way to go but it's fun to see it slowly come together.

Looking forward to: My first baby shower this weekend in Kansas City!  I will also start my third trimester this week.  So crazy!!

Update on KC:
The surgery went fine to remove his pin.  It looks like the joint is holding which is great news!  However, the doctor saw a couple of things that were concerning on the x-ray he took after the surgery.  He said there was still a bone fragment that hasn't healed that's off to the side of the joint, and the bone above his joint looked fuzzy on both sides which could indicate an infection.  :(  So he started him back on antibiotics and wants to see him back in 6 weeks for another x-ray.  I'm really worried that KC might have an infection in his bone.  I really hope that's not the case, and if it is that this antibiotic clears it up fast.

  1. Love reading the updates. It was so exciting to finish our nursery. I felt so accomplished and like we were finally really preparing. I hope it goes well!

  2. It's flying by!

Hoping KC is on the's crazy how our pets are such a huge part of our family!

  3. You look great!! I remember doing anything to get a day of jeans at work too!;)
