Bump Watch :: 21 Weeks

21 Weeks

How far along: 21 weeks

Size of Baby: 10.5 inches from head to heel & 12.7 oz

Fruit/vegetable comparison: Carrot

Total weight gain: 4.5 pounds (I know that weight is coming soon!)

Sleep: Pretty good.  The only thing that bothers me (other then getting up to pee) is my hips get a little sore if I sleep on one side too long.

Movement: I'm starting to see a slight trend on when she likes to move around. but still not completely consistent.  I have felt her kick a few times now on the outside when my hand was on my belly.  When I'm holding KC, she likes to kick him lot. :)  Ryan still hasn't felt her move yet but I know it's got to be soon!

Unglamorous body changes: I can't really think of anything for this one.  I have noticed that my belly isn't perfectly round like you would think.  The right side of my belly sticks out more then the left side!  I think that's because her head is on my right side and she's laying across my belly instead of head down.  Ha!

Maternity Clothes? Yes, I need to order a few more things because I'm already getting tired of the stuff I've bought.  I really need to get some warm things, and still on the hunt for a nice coat.

Showing: More and more every week (with my lopsided belly)!  Sometimes I surprise myself when I see it in a mirror.  I can no longer suck the majority of it in. :)

Food cravings: I've been wanting a lot of chocolate milk and anything cinnamon.  I've also been wanting beans and cornbread but that may have more to do with the weather changing.

What I miss: Not worrying so much if my clothes will fit or not!  Anytime I pack to go some where I have to bring a ton of extra clothes because I'm not sure how it's going to look on me anymore.  Everything's getting so short!

Strange experiences: It felt a whole lot more real this week when Ryan & I started registering for our baby girl.  It was crazy to imagine that I would be putting her in this towel or that crib.  I know she will be here before we know it especially with the holidays around the corner.

Milestones:  As her digestive system preps for the outside world, she's manufacturing meconium -- the tarry black substance you'll find in her first dirty diaper.  She already has a lifetime's supply of eggs in her womb -- about six million of them!  (per thebump.com)

Best moment this week: Feeling her move on the outside for the first time and starting our registry!

Looking forward to: So many things!  Nailing down her name, starting on the nursery and Ryan finally feeling her move!

  1. I totally agree. Having actual things or picking actual things for the baby makes them an actual thing!
