Another side note, I've decided that I am just going to take these bump pictures whenever I can. I've had a hard time taking the picture on the same day, same spot and same shirt. Plus, sometimes I just don't feel cute and the last thing I want to do is take a picture of myself! I have a feeling I may not keep it up if I try to do that every week. And Ryan's not a fan of taking pictures so you maybe seeing in your future a lot of bump pictures taken myself from bathroom mirrors.
On to the bump post!
How far along: 16 weeks
Size of Baby: 4.6 in & 3.5 oz
Fruit/vegetable comparison: Avocado
Total weight gain: 1 pound
Sleep: Not horrible. I still find myself waking up throughout the night and having a harder time going back to sleep then I used to. My mind just starts racing and it's hard to shut it off. Dang hormones!
Movement: YES!! This past Monday I was sitting at my desk and I felt what I thought was a muscle twitch. Then it became more of a tiny poking sensation in my lower abdomen. It actually kind of tickles! I've felt something a little bit everyday since.
Unglamorous body changes: I really can't complain in this department. I know I've described a lot of symptoms I've been experiencing just so I can document them but I've been really lucky so far. Nothing has been too bad, and I've felt pretty great through this pregnancy so far. I had one incident of acid reflux that again wasn't really that bad. It seems like I now gag every time I brush my teeth. Ha! And is it my imagination or am I already getting wider?!
Maternity Clothes? Yes, still just wearing maternity pants and leggings. I've been ordering a lot of maternity tops from Gap and Old Navy (so cheap!) getting ready for the time when I will need them. I ordered a cute t-shirt to wear on Halloween as my costume (I'll show it to you guys when I wear it). And I haven't really been fitting into my KSU tight fitting tops anymore so I ordered a maternity top that's more like a tent! Oh well, I'll eventually fit into it by basketball season. :)
Showing: I feel like I am but I'm definitely in the "is she fat or is she pregnant?" stage.
Food cravings: I really wanted a pot roast with potatoes and carrots this week. Ryan & I went to the store to get all the ingredients one night and the next day came home during our lunch break to prepare it in the crock pot. When I got home from work I was expecting this big wave of delicious goodness to hit my nose when I walked in the door but I didn't smell anything. I went to check on it and it turns out I never even turned the stupid crock pot on! Everything had to be thrown out.. :( In my defense, when Ryan asked me to make sure it was on, I saw the green light and thought we were good. Apparently, a green light means it's off and a red light means it's on!! How confusing is that?!
What I miss: No longer missing Dr. Pepper!! My husband is the best! I've been on a hunt for caffeine free (non diet) Dr. Pepper forever. I know it exists because they advertise it on their website. Well, on my husband's last work trip to Houston some friends of ours took him to a local grocery store there and they actually had it! So my sweet, sweet husband packed three 12 pack cases in his carry on luggage to take home with him! I think it had to weight 75 pounds!! I've been a very happy camper all week long. :)
Strange experiences: You know how everybody tells you people make rude/inappropriate comments to pregnant women? It never crossed my mind that it could possibly happen to me... Well it totally did.. TWICE! I was at the grocery store checking out when I could tell the lady at the counter was checking out my belly. I thought she was trying to decide if I was pregnant or not (I had a tighter shirt on). She finally asked if I was pregnant (which I still don't you should ever ask somebody that!!) and I told her yes I was. Then she asked "well you're not due soon are you??" !!!! I was like no... I have a long time to go but thanks for asking. Then when I ran home over lunch one day I ran into our house cleaner who had been seeing baby related items laying around and asked me if I was pregnant. Then she proceeded to look at my belly and ask "it's not twins is it??" !!! What is up with people sometimes??
Milestones: The baby can now listen to my voice because tiny bones have formed in it's ears. The baby is growing hair, lashes & eyebrows, and it's forming taste buds. (per thebump.com)
Best moment this week: Feeling the baby move for the first time!! And being able to drink Dr. Pepper again (caffeine free).
Looking forward to: Feeling the baby move even more, getting bigger so I no longer look "fat" and finding out what we are having in 3 weeks!! The count down is on! I'll be posting a poll later this week where people can make their guesses.

You are cracking me up with the picture in the bathroom! And I thought about asking you if you had tried Caffeine Free DP, but then I saw you had a picture of it on Instagram so I figured you had. That's what I drank once a day with Easton. If you ever need me to mail you a 12 pack just let me know!
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely do the Photo A Day thing. I am in such a slump too with my photos that this is the only way I can capture our every day life. My good camera lense is broken and I really need to go and get it fixed so I can take photos again!
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting you felt it move!! (I almost said she because I think it's a girl but I'm always wrong so you're probably going to have a boy.) =)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, people are SO rude! I can't believe some of the stories my sisters had when they were pregnant. What happened to just keeping your mouths shut?
Yep, I think girl. :)
ReplyDeleteAww, I miss the little baby kicks! I can't believe you are so close to finding out if it's a boy or girl! Looking great as always!
ReplyDeleteOh the comments, people are really special. I LOVE LOVE LOVE bump pictures and am so incredibly excited for you! I've wanted to ask you over and over how "things" of that nature were going but I NEVER wanted to offend or hurt so I just...didn't. I'm so so so excited for you guys. You look so cute. MUCH cuter than I ever did.
