Welcome Home

When I say these past few weeks have been a whirl wind that would be an understatement.  I know I've totally dropped off the face of the planet.  Let's see... we started our new jobs June 4th, we closed on our house in Bartlesville June 11th, moved out of our house in KC on June 15th, moved into our new house over June 18th & 19th and closed on the KC home on the 19th.  On top of all that, we've been to a wedding, birthday party, golf tournament and lots of fun gatherings.  Right now I'm back in Kansas City for a week training my replacement for my old job.  Whew!!!

Can I just say that I'm ready to do nothing for awhile?  Well, that doesn't look like that will happen because we have lots of things coming up and lots to do on our new house!  Look out for a blast of blog posts coming your way.  ;)
Here we are the day we moved out of our old home in KC.  We looked a little worn out!

Fortunately, our company takes good care of us, and they had people come to pack us up and move us out.  We really didn't have to do much which was so amazing.

Seeing the moving truck outside our house was so surreal.  I just couldn't believe we were already leaving Kansas City when I felt like we just got there.

Here we are in front of our new diggs right after closing on it.  We have so many fun plans and I can't wait to share all the details with you.  This home we were really looking for a one story after having to go up two flights of stairs from the basement that housed our washer & dryer, all the way up to our master bedroom.  Also, a three car garage was essential since there are no basements in Oklahoma for storage space.

This is what we've been doing for the last week... Trying to unbury ourselves from the mass amount of boxes!

This time I decided to video our house before we did anything to it.  Since it took me forever to show you pictures of the house in KC I thought this would be a better way for my family, friends and bloggie friends to check out our new place.  I always hate hearing myself talk and I sound really tired (which I was).  I'm such a dork.  Also, this video is kind of long so only watch it if you have about 10 minutes to burn.

I definitely was keeping it real for you folks with all the piles of junk everywhere.  Ha!

  1. You guys have crazy amounts of energy to be able to pull all this off in such a short amount of time! That's awesome that your company came in and moved you, wish they'd help you unpack too, wouldn't that be nice? Your new house is absolutely beautiful and I loved the video and all your PLANS for the space! Can't want to watch you transform this house into your new home. Thanks for the update!

  2. Oh my goodness, this post gave me anxiety. I can't believe how much you guys have going on and how efficient you are at moving. Love the new house, especially the dining room and kitchen. You are going to do a great job with all of the projects you want to do.
