Christmas Cheer

I don't know what got into me this year.  I had all our Christmas decor out and our Christmas cards stuffed, addressed and mailed out before the end of the Thanksgiving weekend!  Seriously... that never happens.  But I still procrastinated on blogging about it.  That's more like me.  ;)

The finished product.

Next year I want to do some kind of garland to really dress it up.

A few close ups of our ornaments.  My Great Aunt Mary hand made a lot of them.  They are so special to me and hold a lot of childhood memories.

One of our very first ornaments as a married couple.  I can't even remember who gave this to us!

Twinkling garland on the staircase.

Our nativity set that was also a wedding gift that we have just been adding to each year.  This year I plan to snag the angel to set up on top of the manger.

We don't have a mantel currently over our fireplace so our built in TV console has been the next best thing.  Ryan promised to have a mantle built by next year.   ;)

We are so proud of our outside Christmas lights this year!  We bought big red and white old fashion lights and then unscrewed every other one so that we could alternate red and white.  Ryan about killed himself putting the second story lights up so this maybe a one year thing so we are enjoying every second!  Lights always help me feel cheery in these dark cold months.  I wish we could keep them up until spring!

We have lots more little Christmas decorations scattered throughout the house.  We are having a little get together at our house this coming weekend, and I will try to snap a few more photos.

To see more from last year that I didn't show this time click here.

  1. Look at you being on the ball! Your house looks lovely. Funny I didn't receive one of those Christmas cards...I guess we'd have to meet first huh!

  2. Absolutely beautiful!
