It has been so fun this spring waking up every morning to see what new flower had bloomed. Since this is our first spring in this house we didn't know what all was planted. We had my mom over a few weeks ago to tell us what things were and if they were a weed or not. Ha! Ryan & I weren't sure what things needed to be cut back or dug out all together. We've decided not to make any major landscape changes this year until we knew what we had.

We have two white dogwoods, one in the front and one in the backyard. I heart dogwoods.

We also have a gorgeous pink dogwood in our backyard. Their blooms have already started to fad, and I waited a little too long to get out and take pictures of them in their prime.

We also have a TON of azalea bushes. Which I think is so fun since we used to live on azalea meadow lane in Houston.
All over our backyard and some in our front we have this gorgeous ground cover pictured above. I can't remember what my mom called it. It's nice because you can take a small portion and move it to another location and it will continue to spread. Anybody want some? :)

Again, I can't remember the name of this one either, but it was an unexpected beauty that popped up.

I think this is another type of azalea that grows a little taller and it a gorgeous shade of orange. I could be wrong on that one though.

I am so excited because we have all kinds of fun things popping up almost everyday. We have lilacs and I think some hydrangeas coming soon. We even have some delectable succulents all over our backyard too! I'll have to keep you posted with these lovelies. Ryan & I plan to plant a few seasonal flowers this weekend. After that I'll show you some full shots of our yard.

This was little KC the whole time I was taking pictures from the side window of the front door. He is usually always there when I get home from work. Such a sweet welcome home.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

you have got to come garden at my house!
ReplyDeleteWow! You have a beautiful garden! I wish our previous owners had planted beautiful flowers, all we get is weeds.
ReplyDeleteLove all the flowers! I bet it smells wonderful.
ReplyDeleteStopped by from Famille D' Arsenal... your flowers are so lovely! I can't believe all that stuff is in bloom somewhere in the world right now, my perennials are barely poking out of the ground. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures! Also cracked up at KC's face. We miss you guys.
