Not How I planned Easter

Sorry I've been so MIA.  It's been a rough week to say the least.  It all started Monday when I woke up with a headache.  I didn't think it was that big of a deal until it quickly became a can't think, can't breathe, doubled over in pain migraine.  I've never experienced a migraine before (and I rarely get headaches) but I know my mom has dealt with them for years.  I truly thought my head was going to explode.  I will spare you all the awful details.  My week could be summed up with two doctors visits, a CT scan, and a total of three migraines (one on Easter morning).  The CT was clear thank the good Lord!  But I still have no clue why I went from never having a migraine in my life to having three in a week.  It pretty much took out a week of my life.

Do you or anybody you know experience these?  Any idea what causes them or how to prevent them?  I can't think of anything I did differently.  Someone mentioned that the Aspartame in diet sodas has been linked to Migraines so I've cut that out for now.  Anyway, sorry for being a Debbie Downer but I am just exhausted!  I promise to get back to regular postings soon.  I'd love any advise if you have some to share.

  2. My mom suffered from them and JJ does too. He is on a beta blocker every day now and always has migraine meds on him so when he feels one coming on, he takes the meds and 'usually' that helps. He has to lay down in a dark room though. So sorry to hear that you had a rough week, but I'm glad the CT scan came back. Migraines scare the you know what outta me b/c my mom thought she was having a migraine - didn't realize it was a brain aneurysm and was gone before she knew what had hit her.

  3. I'm so sorry to hear that Lindsey. I used to get migraines A LOT! They were horrible. I definitely know what you're going through. I attributed mine to a large amount of stress I was going through at the time. They were so bad I would throw up and be doubled over in pain. I still get them once in a while, but thankfully they are rare these days. I don't have any answers, but stretching and drinking lots of water help ease tension for me. I hope you feel better soon!
