Today I am remembering Georgia May.
Since the weather is starting to show signs of warming up I broke out my Sperry's in anticipation of Spring.  As I sat there putting on my shoes this morning a memory of Georgia May flashed in my mind.  I can still remember the day that Ryan & I went over to her house and discovered that we were wearing the exact same shoes!  I told her she was so hip for sporting Sperry's, and asked her if she was trying to copy me.  :)

Over the last month or so it's been hard going back to Ryan's home town and not being able to pop in on her when we are out on walks.  Or going to eat with her at the Pizza Hut buffet.  I miss our ornery little conversations and how excited she got when she saw Ryan walk through her door.  I think it's been as hard losing her as if she were my very own Grandma.

Today she would have been 94 years old.
I will forever think of Georgie May everytime I wear my Sperry's.

  1. What a sweet post. There is something magical about older friends. Georgia May was blessed to have you and Ryan in her life.

  2. Isn't it strange how the littlest thing can bring back the memory of someone? I like to think that it is God's way of keeping them alive in our hearts so that the future generations don't forget about them.

  3. Aww, that is cute. I can't imagine losing my grandma (she's 90 and the only grandparent I have left). I agree with being thankful for the memories that bring a smile to your face.

I'd love to hear from you!
