Photo 101 : First Assignment

This was my second week of photography class and I'm loving it.  It runs a bit long, but I've already learned so much and am totally inspired to go out and shoot the world!  Last week our instructor gave us an assignment to take pictures with the theme of "blue".  It didn't have to be of the color blue but could also represent it.  I have to admit that I didn't do so well with my first homework assignment.  It was a super busy week and I didn't dedicate the time I should have.  None the less, this was what I came up with.
This was a spur of the moment shot.  Ryan & I were cuddling on the couch and our kitties decided to join in.  This is my favorite part of my night snuggling with our family.  This picture was just too cute to pass up.  The throw blanket has some blue in it but I'm going with the fact the cats are boys.  Boys=Blue  :)

Brotherly love.
I used my 50 mm lens on the P (program) setting and made sure my white balance was adjusted for indoor lighting.

I tried to capture how the cats felt here.  They were sad that their favorite food was being held out of their reach.  Sad=Blue  Don't worry we didn't torture them too long.  They had full bellies by the end of the this shoot.

These last couple of photos were of a onesie that Sally dyed and screen printed a tractor on.  She made this for me when I was visiting her last weekend for a friend of mine that just had a little boy.  The tissue paper was also screen printed on as well.

This little onesie are just to die for.  They are starting to screen all kinds of designs on baby clothes and I can't handle the cuteness.

I wasn't the happiest with my photos this week but I have some pretty good ideas for next week's assignment.  It has to do with shutter speed.  I am working on a little post about what I've learned so for in class and should have that up sometime this weekend.
TGIF!
