Snowed In

Isn't it ironic that we leave Houston at the very end of an incredibly hot summer just in time for the freezing cold winters in Kansas City??

We experienced our first snow storm of the season a week or so ago.  I didn't get any pictures because it was too cold to stay outside for very long.  :)  I'm still adjusting to this weather.  Well, I bought some new boots just in time for our second snow storm that hit today.  So I was able to brave the weather to snap a few pics.

These were actually from a few days ago.  The snow is still lingering from the first storm.
I thought this was the strangest thing I've seen in awhile!  Isn't that weird to have ducks in the middle of your neighbors yard in the dead of winter??  I don't even think there's water near by.

I guess they are just getting food from where ever they can at this point.

Today we got about 4 inches and the weather man said we could get up to another 6 by morning!  It took me an hour and a half to get home from work today when it normally takes me 20 to 25 minutes.

Poor Ryan has shoveled the driveway 3 times today and it's still this thick!  I'm sure he'll be sore tomorrow.

Tonight we are snuggling in by the fire, watching a movie and drinking hot coco.  Perfect.

  1. You all got the snow we were suppose to get...kinda jealous! I really do love massive amounts of snow :) We got maybe 2 inches on top of our 10 still here from last week. but nothing like what I heard you all got. Sounds like you guys are getting the winter we had last year! Enjoy your snow day :)

  2. Ah yes, the wonderful drive home last night. I was gonna ask where those ducks were! That is pretty strange to see them in someone's yard like that. Give that boy a back rub tonight! :)
