When I was growing up the church I attended had an incredible youth based ministry. I remember from an early age being surrounded with amazing people wanting to teach me about God. Sometimes I think about how different my life would have been without those people investing in my life.
When I entered middle school I was finally old enough to attend the youth group called Ichthus. It went on through high school and even into college. There have been so many fabulous people that have gone through Ichthus, and it seems like most people I talk to either went to it at some point or have heard about it. I even came back over a summer of college to be on "Summer Staff" for high school girls. Can you tell I LOVE Ichthus??
From time to time, John Schwartz will put together a Ichthus reunion open to anyone that was ever involved. It's pretty cool to see people much older then you and younger all come together for the same reason. This was the first year that I was able to attend and it was the Sunday after Christmas.
Even my good friend, Kelley, and her husband & baby came back for the reunion. I don't think I had seen her since college. Ridiculous! I got to meet her precious baby and all his cuteness. He's got one incredible head of hair.
This is kind of a blurry picture of Ryan, John & I. And I didn't get any other pictures of people while I was there!
John Schwartz has been the Ichthus college ministry leader since it was started at K-State many years ago. He is a staple on our college campus. John is an incredible man of God and is doing some powerful things for the KSU students. I'm so excited to see what the future holds for him and K-State.
