Happy Halloween!!

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween today!!  I wanted to share a video clip from the Ellen DeGeneres show for this occasion to get everybody in the mood.  I for one love to go haunted housing and watch scary movies (probably shouldn't).  I took Ryan to a few this year in downtown Kansas City.  They were pretty scary but mostly blew out our ear drums.  Anyway, this clip literally sent me over the edge in hysterics.  Ellen sent her writer, all dressed up like a reporter, into a haunted house to do a segment...  I hope you enjoy if you haven't already seen this.  :)

Happy Birthday Hubby!

This guy is 28!!!
This picture was taken back in college when Ryan was turning 23!  Isn't it amazing how men age so gracefully?!  So not fair.

I can't believe my main man is already 28.  It feels like yesterday that he was just 22!
"Your my missing puzzle piece.  I'm complete."  (Name that song.)

Time has definitely flown by but it has been so amazing to be able to watch my husband continually grow into the man he is today.  He is the hardest working man I've ever met (besides his dad where he gets that trait from).  Ryan's integrity and work ethic blows me away on a daily basis.  I know without a shadow of a doubt that God has great plans for him, and I am so lucky to have front row seats to see them unfold.

He has made me a better person and a harder worker then I thought I ever could be.  He's my biggest encourager, and I seriously don't know what I would do without him.
Every birthday my goal is to make him feel honored and celebrated, because he definitely deserves it!!

This year we were able to visit his hometown the weekend prior to his b-day and celebrate with his family.  His mom made one of her famous, to-die-for cakes that was immediately inhaled.
This weekend we plan to cheer on the Wildcats at the homecoming game versus Oklahoma State.  You know there will be pictures to follow. ;)

House Update

So much to update you guys on!  :)  We no longer own our house in Houston as of today.  Yipee!  AND we are closing on this home a week from today!!!

I'm so excited!!! I can not wait to finally be settled.  We close next Wednesday and move in that weekend.  These are pictures I took awhile ago and there's actually a brand new roof on it now.  It was nerve wrecking picking out the color, but I think it looks good.  I'll post updated picks of it once we move in.
I'm in love with the charm of older neighborhoods and big trees!  I really like the area we bought in and it's closer to my work.  I think after living in a brand new subdivision it made Ryan & I miss big trees and homes with more character.  I'm so excited to show you guys the inside once we move in.  We have lots of ideas!!!

Go Chiefs!

Since we've been back in KC it has been a mission to attend all the local sporting events.  One of the first weekends home, we went to a Royals game with the fam and then to the K-State vs Iowa State in the Arrow Head Stadium with some friends.  I didn't get any pictures of those games though!  :(

The weekend of Mark & Brittney's wedding we dashed home for a Sunday Chief's game with some friends that also went to the wedding.  I had never been to an actual Chief's game so I was thrilled.  We had purchased some tickets in the nose bleed section.  I'm not afraid of heights, but I did get a little scared climbing all those stairs!!

As you can see we didn't have the best seats in the house... ;)

So after making our way down for some food we decided to scope out better seats.  Chief fans are crazy so we didn't think we would find any.  But we totally lucked out and found some fabulous seats right at the edge.  They were perfect!

So much better.

Our friends Jeff & Darby who are newly engaged!!

Jeff & Darby were in town from Houston and wanted to see the new Arrow Head Stadium.  They are huge A&M fans and since they were already up North for the wedding they wanted to stick around for the Oklahoma State vs A&M game on Thursday.  So after the game we showed them around KC for awhile.

We had fun going to the Kansas City Art Fair and showing them around the Plaza.  Then having dinner at the best BBQ around, Jack Stacks.

Best fountain to take pictures in front of.  :)

After that they were off to camp for a few days until their big football game.  It was a blast!  The Chief's had a fantastic game and was so much fun to watch.

89th Birthday!!

Today is my Grandma's birthday and she requested to have her birthday bash at Joe's Crab Shack.
It's been forever since we've eaten there and it has such a fun atmosphere.  Most of the family was able to get together to celebrate and it was so good to spend time together.  I love being back and getting to be involved with all the family gatherings.  :)

Doesn't my Grandma look b-e-a-utiful??

My amazing in-laws wanted to make this pumpkin for my Grandma's birthday.  It was a hit!  It was home grown from very own pumpkin patch.

My Grandma is the best!!  She is definitely a woman to be celebrated.  :)

Ran out of room!

Can you believe that blogger told me that I ran out of memory??  WHAT?!  I didn't even know that was possible.  $5 dollars later and I've got a lot more memory.  :)

So here are the final pictures from Mark & Brittney's wedding.  The group shot.

Everyone seeing the newly married couple off to their honeymoon in Mexico.  Love this picture.

And they lived happily ever after...

Mark & Brittney's Wedding Part 2

I just realized that Ryan & I haven't been to a wedding in awhile.  We had gone through a huge wedding rush a few years ago and now there is a mini one going on.  It's so much fun!

After the bridal luncheon we all headed over to Brittney's parent's house to get ready together.  Brit's mom had the perfect bathroom setup for us all.  Brittney gave us these adorable robes with our initials on them and pearl jewelry to wear to the wedding!  Fortunately for everyone, Chelsea (Brit's sis) is in cosmetology school right now and did everyone's hair including the bride's!

Just a few hours away from the wedding!

The wedding ceremony was gorgeous and was flawless.  The reception was held at the brand new Hilton hotel in downtown Bartlesville.  It had an awesome reception hall.  This was Mark & Brittney's first dance as a new married couple.  Is her dress not fabulous?!  I helped pick it out. ;)

The sweet father daughter dance.

It was such an honor to get to see the start of their relationship, be there when they got engaged and see them get married.  What a perfect story!  Love you guys!
