Family Affair

Ryan & I just got back into town (barely alive) from our wonderful Thanksgiving with the Ebright family. We left Tuesday after work and drove all the way to the middle of Kansas. Even though we were dog tired it didn't matter because we were so excited to see family. It had been since the Forth of July that Ryan & I had been back to his home town. It was such a sweet trip.

On our first full day in Kansas we slept in and caught up with everyone. It's a lot cooler in Kansas then Texas. I had forgotten that when my sister-in-law, Emily, suggested that we walk to the movie rental place to pick up a few flicks for the week. It's been awhile since I had been that cold. :) For dinner we met up with Ryan's grandma at the local Pizza Hut which is always a hot spot, especially when they have buffets.

Love this picture of the girls.

Once we had our fill of pizza and caught up with some of the locals, we headed back to the house to break out the Rock Band game. Unfortunately, Ryan forgot to bring the microphone and the piece to hook in the guitar so all we had were the drums. :) It was still fun. I think everyone enjoyed The Beatles songs.

After all The Rock Band excitement we watched the movie Up which I totally cried through the whole thing. You have to see it. It was so well done, and I LOVED the story behind it. Click here to see my very creative friend and her boyfriend's Halloween costume from this movie.

These pictures crack me up. Sally & I always love to take silly pictures of each other. In the one below I was telling Ryan to come over to us to take our picture, and I didn't realize Sally was making that face. Ha!

I just love my sister-in-laws. :)
More fun Thanksgiving posts to come. Right now I need to recover from that heinous car drive home. Mental note, do NOT drive home on a holiday Sunday through rain. Enough said.

  1. Glad to read you made it home safely and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I'm assuming you drive through OKC, right?! If you ever need a place to crash, you are more than welcome to stay with us. :) Also...am I supposed to repost your "awards" post or just list 10 "interesting" things about me?! It kind of confused me, lol!!

  3. I'm glad you got to come back to the midwest. I was in Memphis last weekend and it was beautiful and 75 and as we drove back home, it dropped 30 degrees and was raining.

Looks like everyone had a great time.

  8. Okay, silly girl! The parade on my blog was in Houston! They have it every year, it just isn't very big like the Macy's Day parade or anything like that.

  9. Hey there!
Have I told you how much I like your new couples picture at the top of the blog? Oh so cute.
I don't read the Pioneer Woman's blog....but I'm guessing I should huh? I can't tell you how funny it was meeting MckMama. Like blog world meets real world, weird!
We're gearing up for Christmas with Wade. He's recently become obsessed with choo choo trains, so he's all about the one we put under our tree. The season should be fun with him and all his excitement this year. We go see Santa tomorrow. It should be a complete disaster :)
    take care,
    Kriya
