Early 4th of July

Hello long lost blogger friends! It's been awhile since my last post (for me). I have a good reason though because I just got back last night from visiting our family & friends in Kansas. It was a short trip but a much needed refresher. We pulled into Ryan's home town with Sally's car at 4:30am on Thursday! We had been keeping it at our place for safe keeping until she returned. :) Man, that was a looooong drive. Luckily we got to fly back.

I will post more on our family visit later, but right now I want to talk about our first Fourth of July celebration. Family and friends were coming to the farm the day before the 4th to help us shoot off some fireworks. So we actually had two nights of firework fun. We had no problem stocking up on all the goodies for two nights.
Sarah (cousin), Emily & Ryan
"Emily, do you need a punk?" Jeff (Sarah's husband) & Ryan starting off the explosions.
The audience at a safe distance.
Harlan, Uncle Alan and Aunt Linda
Everybody getting in on the action.
Starting to get dark. I love this picture!
Emily was having fun with the sparklers.
This was me lighting a firecracker in between being swarmed by mosquitoes. I think I came home with no less then 50 bites. They even got me through my shirt and all the bug spray!
I love this camera setting. I have no clue how this happened but this is a great shot of Jeff.
Alex (friend from college) is taking his turn.
The cute couple, Mary & Alex. Mary is in the same architecture program as Sally and studied abroad with her.
Sally, Mary & Alex
Harlan, Aunt Linda, Sally behind her, Alison (cousin), & Uncle Alan
Sarah, Ryan's parent's friends and Emily
So pretty!
Finishing off the night with some Roman Candles.
All and all we had a very fun and safe night (for the most part :)). I can't forget to mention all the really great food that I continued to munch on until the wee hours of the night. Sadly, I wasn't the best at getting every body's picture that was there. I'm especially sad that I didn't get Ryan's grandma's pic. She somehow always slips by without one. More fun to come shortly. Hope everyone had just as much fun on their 4th!
