Last Day!

Today is Ryan & I's last day of work in Bartlesville! We are leaving for Dallas tonight to stay with my Godmother and tomorrow will head on down to Houston. It is really sad to say goodbye to everyone and we have been truly blessed with the groups we were privileged to work in. We will miss them like crazy. Our hope is that our new groups will be as great!

This is a picture of my group when we went out for lunch for my "going away" get together. Jordan's birthday was also being celebrated too. That's how Treasury Services rolls... :) They like to combine things.

Ryan & I at our desks! I wanted to remember it. I am such a nerd.

I may not be able to post for awhile with our move and getting settled. We will be staying with some good friends, Brad & Lindsey, until we close on our house. We have inspections on it tomorrow. Once everything is OKed on the report I will post about our new house!! :o)

Happy Birthday Hubby!

Today is Ryan's big day! Sadly we can't celebrate it the way I would have liked to because of our impending move. However, we do get to meet his parents tonight for dinner in Wichita and pick up our kitties. Ryan is very excited about it. He gets to see his parents before we move and he gets to pick up his little kitties he misses so much. :o) This weekend when we are in Houston he will pick out a new bike for his gift from me. I will have to post pics of that later. It will be cute. He has been wanting one forever so that we can ride bikes together, and in Houston we should be able to ride them all year!
Happy 26th Birthday Babe!

Last Weekend in KC

This weekend was great because I got to see my mom, grandma & best friend all in one swoop! We did a little bit of shopping and saw my best friend's new apartment, which by the way is incredibly decorated. It went by so fast. I wish I had more time there. :( It was hard knowing that this will be the last time I will see everyone for awhile and the fact that I will be a lot farther away. But Ryan and I will be having our family down for Thanksgiving so that is not too far away!
Mom, Grandma, and I (again not the best picture but it works!)

Another fun fact from this weekend is.... Ryan found us a house!!! Once we do the inspections and everything is finalized I will tell you all about it! We are super excited and it is a huge relief that we finally found something. :o)

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is my Grandma's birthday! She is such an incredible person and has been one of the most influential people in my life. I treasure this woman beyond belief. She has helped raise me and look after me since I was a baby. I hate the fact that I don't live close enough to see her as much as I should. Her spiritual guidance and life model she set has been truly an inspiration to me. I have always looked up to her and wanted to live my life after hers. I have been blessed to have her as a Grandma and I look forward to many more years with her!
This is not the best picture but I have limited access to photos since my computer is packed up and in storage.

I am excited because I am going to Kansas City this weekend to see my mom, family and friends before I hit the road for Texas! Ryan will be in Houston for the weekend to continue looking for houses.

Update

Can I just show you what my husband looked like this morning? :o) He was preparing to face the rain without an umbrella to get the car for me... so heroic! Yep, that's my man!

So now the update you all have been waiting for.... sitting at the edge of your seats! We will be leaving for Houston at the end of next week. We're not sure if we'll go Thursday night or Friday yet. Unfortunately, we are still on a house hunt. We will be homeless for a little while longer... aka living at Brad & Lindsey's! The home we had inspections done on came back needing a TON of work so we walked away from it. Boo. I know we will find the perfect one for us God willing. In the mean time we will just enjoy to the fullest living with friends and having no mortgage payment. Whoa Hoo!

American Idol

This weekend Ryan & I's roomies threw us a going away party featuring the Wii game American Idol. It was too entertaining to see everyone belting out their songs in front of the gang. Before the singing festivities took place we all went out to dinner at Chili's (which is like the only restaurant to eat at in B'ville j/k). Then we headed back to Nat and Janets to test our singing skills and hang out as a big group one last time. ;( I really am going to miss everyone like crazy! They all better be visiting me often in Houston! Janet showing some mad skills
Malinda was doing her thang!
Jordan was the hit of the show. I will try to download a video of this!

My Obsession

Are they not the cutest things you have ever seen?! The grey one is Yogi and the orange one is KC.
I just love these little guys. I am sooo in the pet stage of life right now.
It's funny because I thought I would have a dog and a cat but ended up with two cats! I promise I am not a crazy cat lady! My husband loves them too. We started off in an apartment in Houston and we wanted a low maintenance animal so we got KC (named after Kansas City).

Then we felt really bad because we were working all the time and KC was neglected so we got Yogi. My husband thought he looked like a bear so he went with that name. I wanted to name him Mo (Missouri), so then we would have KC & MO. Oh well, Yogi suites him well. ;)
I really miss them right now because they are at the farm with their grandparents. I don't know how I am going to get through the next few weeks without their entertainment!

Relaxing Weekend

Ryan & I had a very relaxing weekend, finally! We spent Friday night hanging out with our new roomies playing cards. Which by the way, is the best way to spend a Friday night in my opinion. :o) Saturday we went over to our good friend's house, John & Malinda. They had a bunch of people over to watch all the football games all day long. It was such a blast! We spent the entire day and evening there. John & Malinda our the best. It was such a nice day out that we spent most of the time lounging outside. The girls watched the boys play some kind of football bowling?? We mostly just chatted. It was so good to catch up with my girlies after being so busy!

Ryan snapped this picture before we were ready!
Janet, Meghan, Malinda, and me (whitey mcwhitey!)
Much better! Some of my best friends.
Janet (roomie), Meghan, Malinda, and Me This is John getting his game face on for a mean game of football bowling.
Ryan is so hard core!
Sunday we met Ryan's parents in Wichita to drop our kitties off with the grandparents. Since we don't really have a house right now we needed someone to look after our kitties and who better then the grandparents! This is us at On the Border... mmmmm so good!

Packin' it up

The big move is upon us. We are moving out of our first house together. It has been very emotional but we are excited about what's to come. This week will be a crazy one with the movers coming to pack us up tomorrow, move out Thursday, and hand the house over on Friday. I probably won't be able to post for a little bit until things get settled and we are moved into our friend's home. In other fun news we did go under contract on a house in Houston this week and if the inspections go well on Thursday it will be our new home. I will post pictures of it later once we know we are getting it. But in the mean time here is a picture of my main man mowing our lawn for the last time. :(

Manhappan'in

We just got back from our trip to the great town of Manhattan, Kansas. The home to the mighty Wildcats... well maybe not this past weekend... tear ;( It was still a ton of fun.

Our good friends Jordan and Emily let us tag along with them and stay in their family's amazing condo.
Even though the Cats didn't come through for us we managed to have a great time playing games (I can't remember the name of the game pictured below, but Ryan & I are definitely getting one!) and spending time with family and friends. The four dogs that were staying at the condo were pretty entertaining too. :) We really wanted to try and get back to Manhattan before the move to Houston since it will probably be awhile before we are there again. Another big reason we went was so we could see Ryan's little sister Sally who still goes to K-State and their parents met us there as well.

Ryan & Harlan Sadly I didn't get a picture of Susan or Sally so this pic is in honor of them!

Ryan, Sally, & Susan
Well I better get back to the laundry and cleaning that I have been putting off. I will keep you posted on the house!

Houston Bound

So as many of you know we are in the process of moving back to Houston as of November 1st. It has been a crazy last month or so and will continue to be for a bit. We just got back from our house hunting trip and let me tell you... it was so tiring!! We must have looked at 60 houses! Geez! We did end up putting an offer on a house that we really like and the location is great. So hopefully I will be blogging about the accepted offer soon. ;) This is a pic of us on the plane ride home.
Our friends Brad and Lindsey were so wonderful for letting us stay with them, and we could quite possibly be their new roomies if we can't find a house in time! So hopefully we won't kill them off if that happens. This pic is from when they came to visit us in Houston before they moved there. They are actually in Galveston in this pic. They are sooo fun!

So this week is filled with the preparation of moving out in a week. A week people!! We will be staying with some more incredible friends, Nat and Janet, for a couple of weeks until the big move. We were able to sell our house quick which was a HUGE blessing but we have to be out before our move date. It is a lot of mixed emotions for both Ryan and I as this was our first house we purchased. I will try and keep you all updated on all the craziness in the next few weeks. This picture is of KC and Ryan when we got home from our house hunting trip. You can tell that KC really missed Ryan. Such a daddies boy. :)
Ok I have to throw one in of Yogi too! He stationed himself on our luggage when we got back because he missed us as well.
